Charles Ormond Eames, Jr (June 17, 1907 – August 21, 1978)
Ray-Bernice Alexandra Kaiser Eames (December 15, 1912 – August 21, 1988)
An American dynamic design duo - responsible for many classic, iconic designs of the 20th century. Their work celebrated a diverse investigative use of materials and forms including architecture, furniture design, filmmaking and textiles. Perhaps their most popular movie, "Powers of Ten" , gives a dramatic demonstration of orders of magnitude by visually zooming away from the earth to the edge of the universe, and then microscopically zooming into the nucleus of a carbon atom.
